Production made cable-controlled animatronic articulating endoskeleton for a "Venom" creature puppet constructed of tooled aluminum, fiberglass, and multimedia components. Accompanied by its original, functional animation rig with custom controls, 4-hand operated cable actuation toggles, and production stand affixed to rolling steel base. In the early development phase of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, this meticulously articulating head and torso animatronic figure was designed and built by Frontline Design Inc. Intended for use under an earlier conceived Venom creature suit featuring "smooth skin," this served as a pre production test animatronic.The included controls serve to move and articulate the gestures engineered into the animatronic figure from body movement to nuance of fingers, mouth and other components. There are custom formed cast fiberglass panels on the chest to approximate musculature and movement under the suit's skin. All ingeniously designed and choreographed to give life to the ultimate creature. Partial creature head rubber skin retained. Also, resin upper and lower teeth and cast rubber tongue present. The creature endoskeleton is mounted on a steel platform on wheels, measuring 37.5 in. long x 28 in. wide, standing 83 in. tall. The accompanying rig platform is affixed to a wooden base that connects its operating cables to the figure. Measuring 48 x 17.5 x 33.5 in. This mechanical FX figure and rig are a triumph of practical design, artistry, and technology that personifies the work and accomplishment of the best of the best special FX artists working in the motion picture industry. Includes (4) remotes. Cable mechanicals tested and working. Any electronics untested. Exhibiting production wear and minor age. In overall production used, very good condition.
