Q. What is an electronic certificate of authenticity (“ECOA”)?
A. An ECOA is a digital image of a certificate of authenticity for your prop or costume. The ECOA is on the block chain. The ECOA also includes other information regarding your prop or costume that is digitally stored on the block chain in your ECOA account.

Q. What other information is also included as part of my ECOA?
A. Also included are a digital image of your prop or costume, a full description of your item and a brief clip from the film or show where your item appeared. If there are any provenance/authentication documents (e.g. LOA) relating to your item, those will also be digitized and form part of our ECOA and cannot be altered in any way because of the block chain.

Q. Will I still receive the original of any LOAs or other provenance/authentication documents?
A. Yes.

Q. How does my ECOA prevent fraud?
A. Your ECOA cannot be copied by anyone because it is on the block chain. Also, we use certain technology which makes it almost impossible for anyone to substitute the prop or costume you bought from us with another one.

Q. Are there any other auction houses using ECOAs?
A. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first auction house in the world to do so.

Q. Does Studio Auctions issue the card and the ECOA and maintain the information related to the ECOA?
A. No. Studio Auctions has partnered with Top Tier Authentics (“TTA”). TTA takes care of the administration of the ECOA.

Q. Will every purchaser be issued an ECOA?
A. No. ECOAs will only be issued for certain props and costumes.

Q. Do I have to pay for my ECOA?
A. No. But as mentioned above, ECOAS will only be issued for certain props and costumes.

Q. If I my prop or costume is eligible for an ECOA, can I have a paper COA instead of an ECOA?
A. Yes (but not both).

Q. Will I be issued a card for each prop or costume that is accompanied by an ECOA?
A. Yes

Q. How do I access my ECOA?
A. You create an account with TTA. It takes less than a minute. You will see you ECOA when you are in your account.

Q. Do I need my card to access my account?
A. No, you can also access your account on the TTA website with your password.

Q. Does Studio Auctions and/or TTA have access to my account?
A. No. Further, we will not sell any of your personal information (e.g. your name or email).

Q. Can I get a replacement card if I lose mine?
A. Yes. There is a replacement cost.

Q. Do I need my card to access my account?
A. No, you can also access your account on the TTA website.

Q. Is there an app I can download to access my account?
A. Not at this time

Q. Can I transfer ownership of my prop or costume (and the ECOA) to a purchaser?
A. Yes. It is easy to do so using your account.

Q. Will my name appear on the ECOA and will a purchaser be able to see that I was an owner?
A. Your name will never appear on the ECOA unless you want it to.

Q. Will other auction houses accept my Studio Auctions ECOA?
A. That will be up to the other auction house. Generally speaking, other auctions houses do not accept COAs from other auction houses.
