Steve Allen Signed Letter to Danny Kaye.

Danny Kaye, 1960, Danny Kaye. Vintage typed letter on 10.5 x 7 in. embossed vellum stationery with Hollywood address and dated “February Twenty-Seventh 1960". The letter addresses Danny Kaye's inability to publicly sponsor “Hollywood for SANE," a group of Hollywood celebrities supporting the National Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy (SANE), founded by Steve Allen in 1959. It reads in part, “I can't remember if I have sent you the two enclosed books…I am sure you will find yourself in agreement with the philosophies that Schweitzer and Russell express. My best to Sylvia. Sincerely," and is signed, “Steve." The books in question (not included) are Peace or Atomic War? by Albert Schweitzer and Atomic Suicide by Walter and Lao Russell. Exhibiting expected age and original transmittal folds. In vintage very good to fine condition. From the personal collection of Danny and Sylvia Fine Kaye.
