Stan Laurel "Stanley" Suit from 2-MGM Film.

Air Raid Wardens and Nothing But Trouble, 1943, MGM. Vintage 2-piece gray wool flannel suit including 1-double-breasted jacket with peaked lapel, with 1-chest flap and 2-hip flap pockets, interior lined in pale purple satin and retaining internal Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio bias label with handwritten, "St. Laurel / 1876 7582,"and on interior creme satin lined sleeves there is a studio stamp, and two MGM cleaning tags, and 1-pair of matching pleated trousers with button front closure, retaining internal Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio bias label with handwritten, "St. Laurel / 1876 5588 3630," studio stamp and an MGM cleaning tag. This suit dates from Laurel and Hardy's brief tenure at MGM, which produced only two films. Laurel and Hardy costumes from any period are extremely rare at auction. Provenance: Originally purchased at the 1970 MGM auction and/or tag sale.
