Lucasfilm, 1977. Vintage (4) piece "Duros" ensemble including (1) silver 2-piece spacesuit with padded quilting throughout, lacing detail on torso and cuffs, full waist zipper allowing for pieces to detach, aluminum cuffs, airline seatbelt, front zipper closure, and retaining internal Western Costume bias label with typed, "Connie Stevens", and 2-studio barcode sticker labels, and (2) gauntlets with leather gloves and aluminum bracers, both retaining internal handwritten, "40474021". Including (1) "Duros" full head casting constructed of cast foam rubber over internal armature, measuring approximately 19 x 13 x 9 in. Though uncredited, "Ohwun" was portrayed by model maker Jon Berg during a series of supplemental shots filmed for the cantina sequence. The spacesuit was a studio relic, having been originally made for the 1967 Jerry Lewis film, Way... Way Out, and then reused for the 1967 film, In Like Flint, and a 2-part episode of The Green Hornet. In 1969, the suit was used in an episode of Get Smart, and then painted white for Escape From the Planet of the Apes. Finally, before being repurposed for Star Wars, the suit was used one final time in a sketch for The Bob Hope Show. Suit exhibiting expected age and wear, with partially detached collar at left shoulder, and peeling of metallic coating throughout. Suit in vintage good condition. Head in very good to fine condition.
