Guy Lafleur's legendary career started when he was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1971 in the first round, first overall from the Quebec Ramparts of the QMJHL. He is still the Montreal Canadiens all-time leading scorer with 518 goals and 728 assists. He holds the franchise record for most points in a season with 136. Lafleur is one of the greatest right wingers to ever play the game and one of the most exciting offensive players of all time. This beautifully hammered game used Maska jersey is photo matched to two games at Maple Leaf Gardens, December 12th, 1981, and March 7th, 1982. It has 59 repairs, 11 on the front, 7 on the back, 23 on the right elbow and sleeve with 18 more on the left sleeve and elbow area. Black stick marks across the chest, material runs, an unrepaired hole, many loose threads on the crest and all identifiers, make up the rest of the use outside this jersey. Inside out, the Maska tagging remains with the size tag showing 50 near the stitching, with it mostly washed out. Beautiful garter belt fight strap affixed below the famous #10 with heavy pilling at both cuffs. The first match is to the cluster of repairs on the right elbow at the white stripe. The photo from 1981, matching those repairs with the arm numbers matching perfectly as well as Lafluer is skating back up the ice at the Gardens. The next match is found on the back of the jersey from 1982, you can see the same loose thread on the top of the number one and the bottom of the 0 showing 2 exact threads. Same puckering the bottom of the 1 as well, all identifiers matching up exactly. In that photo, Guy is shown in a Canadiens scrum after a goal. This incredible jersey, worn by one of the best ever right wingers, belongs in your Hall of Fame collection. Guy Lafleur, nicknamed "the Flower" and "Le Démon Blond", was the first player in National Hockey League history to score 50 goals in six consecutive seasons as well as 50 goals and 100 points in six consecutive seasons. Between 1971 and 1991, Lafleur played right wing for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and Quebec Nordiques in an NHL career spanning 17 seasons, and five Stanley Cup championships in 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, and 1979 (all with the Canadiens). Lafleur was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988, named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history in 2017, and was named to the Order of Hockey in Canada in 2022. He played in 1,126 games, scored 560 goals and 793 assists. Lafleur was a cornerstone of the Canadiens' four straight championships from 1976 to 1979, including being named playoff MVP in 1977. During the 1978 Stanley Cup finals, head coach ordered his players to put their sticks up and hit Lafleur whenever they encountered him. At the end of the series, Lafleur's head was swathed in bandages after numerous slashes from Bruin players. After Montreal won the Stanley Cup, he borrowed it for the weekend without telling anyone to show his friends back home in Thurso, where he set it out on his front lawn for all his neighbours to see.
