Ted Kennedy Contract 1943-4

The Leafs saw enough in this 17-year-old in the 2 games he played in the latter half of the 1942-43 season to lock him up for the 1943-44 season. This is Kennedy’s first professional contract with some unique terms. In his rookie season, Teeder had 49 points in 49 games and it was all uphill from there. Five Stanley Cups, captained two of them, Hart Trophy winner, Hall of Famer and a player that Conn Smythe called ‘the greatest competitor in hockey’. Ted ‘Teeder’ Kennedy was voted as number two on the Leafs Top 100 list. This rare contract that young Kennedy signed was after being called to the principal’s office while in school one day. Signed by ‘Theodore’ Kennedy, Hap Day and NHL president ‘Red’ Dutton. This should be at the top of the list for collectors.
