Star Trek: Original Series (1966) - Original Horta Eggshell

Original Horta eggshell from the Star Trek: The Original Series episode titled, “The Devil in the Dark. The iconic series "Star Trek" follows the crew of the starship USS Enterprise as it completes its missions in space in the 23rd century. Captain James T. Kirk -- along with half- human/half-Vulcan science officer Spock, ship Dr. "Bones" McCoy, Ensign Pavel Chekov, communications officer Lt. Nyota Uhura, helmsman Lt. Hikaru Sulu and chief engineer Lt. Cmdr. Montgomery "Scotty" Scott -- confront strange alien races, friendly and hostile alike, as they explore unknown worlds. During this episode, the crew of the USS Enterprise investigates mysterious deaths at a mining colony on Janus VI. Led by Captain Kirk (William Shatner), the crew discover the Horta, a silicon-based lifeform responsible for the killings. This eggshell resembles the one Captain Kirk (William Shatner) is holding in the cave. The eggshell is made of plaster and is painted purple and features irregular cracking around its edges. The eggshell comes from the collection of Greg Jein and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Studio Auctions.
