This production used, deactivated Smith and Wesson articulating Model 64 pistol with a 3 in. heavy barrel used on screen by Heath Ledger as "The Joker," a role for which he posthumously won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. The pistol later appears in the hands of Aaron Eckhart's character, "Harvey Dent," who transforms into "Two-Face." Cylinder pops out and rotates. The Model 64 is a six-shot, double-action revolver with fixed sights, chambered for .38 Special. It was the second all-stainless steel revolver produced by Smith & Wesson, following the Model 60. This model gained popularity among various U.S. police, sheriff, and state agencies, especially in high-humidity regions, as its stainless construction offers greater corrosion and rust resistance compared to the blued Model 10. Accompanied by a Certificate of Deactivation and accompanied by a COA from renowned movie armorers, Bapty, this prop is deemed both authentic and safe. Not factory grip, added for production.
