Bloodsport (1988) – Frank Dux’s (Jean-Claud Van Damme) Kumite Katana

Frank Dux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) hero katana sword from Newt Arnold’s martial arts film Bloodsport. U.S. soldier Frank Dux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) has come to Hong Kong to be accepted into the Kumite, a highly secret and extremely violent martial-arts competition. While trying to gain access into the underground world of clandestine fighters, he also has to avoid military officers who consider him to be AWOL. After enduring a difficult training and beginning a romance with journalist Janice Kent (Leah Ayres), Frank is given the opportunity to fight. This katana was featured when Frank (Jean-Claude Van Damme) remembers back to meeting his master Tanaka (Roy Chiao) and was presented to Frank for winning the Kumite. This is a custom made, one of a kind sword, which features a curved steel blade with a silver color metal strip present at the base, a detailed floral-shaped hand guard, and a custom leather grip featuring a woven cord. The sword has slight wear from production use and age, including scuffing and scratches, and remains in good condition. The consignor worked on the production of the film and the provenance is impeccable. JUST ADDED IS A LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY FROM THE FILM'S PRODUCER MARK DISALLE.
