The Force is Strong with Studio Auctions

Original clapperboard from the 1986 Tony Scott classic Top Gun. The Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School is where the best of the best train to refine their elite flying skills. When hotshot fighter pilot Maverick (Tom Cruise) is sent to the school, his reckless attitude and cocky demeanor put him at odds with the other pilots, especially the cool and collected Iceman (Val Kilmer). But Maverick isn't only competing to be the top fighter pilot, he's also fighting for the attention of his beautiful flight instructor, Charlotte Blackwood (Kelly McGillis). This clapperboard consists of an acrylic slate with a wooden clapper fixed to the top. The production company "Simpson-Bruckheimers” name runs along the top, with the production title "Top Gun" situated further down the slate, both engraved in red. Two fields for scene and take are outlined in yellow, and feature written details in black ink, including "201F" and "9". The names of director Tony Scott and director of photography Jeffrey Kimball is situated below, and the date is marked as "7.8.85". The clapperboard displays signs of production use, including scuffing to the paint on the arm, light scratches to the acrylic and loss of black ink where it has rubbed away in places over time.
