Laurel and Hardy, 1963, . Typed 8 x 9.25 in. signed letter on personal stationary from Stan Laurel (of "Laurel and Hardy") to Eleanor Weaver dated "FEB.2nd.'63" apologizing for not replying sooner. The letter goes on to discuss Stan's disappointment with the Laurel and Hardy film Utopia (also known as Atoll K and Robinson Cruesoeland), writing in part: "it was very very bad, this was made in France in 1950. [sic] under very difficult circumstances, we were surrounded by a mixture of foreign Nationals, French & Italian, so we were greatly hampered by the language barrier." Stan goes on to write: "I was too ill to take any interest in the editing etc. never thought it would be released, I was really ashamed of it. This will always remain a tragic memory to me." Exhibiting original transmittal folds and displayed within a gray matte frame measuring approx. 20 x 14 in. next to a black and white sketch of Stan Laurel in character on an 8 x 9.25 in sheet of paper. There is minor water staining to the edges of the cardboard display, not affecting the image or the letter. In vintage very good to fine condition.
