The Rolling Stones, 1964, The Rolling Stones. This rare 20-page program from the Rolling Stones' first U.S. tour in June 1964 offers a glimpse into the band's early days, just as they were beginning to rise to prominence and make their mark as a cornerstone of the British Invasion. At this point, the Stones had yet to achieve a Top 40 hit in the U.S., with their single "Not Fade Away" having only peaked at #48. However, by the time they wrapped up this brief tour and headed back to the UK, the hits would begin to follow in quick succession. One of the most intriguing features of this program is a printing error that swapped the first names of Mick Jagger and Brian Jones on the opening page. A rather significant mistake, it was never corrected due to the tour's limited scope—just eight cities in total—leaving no time, funds, or incentive to fix it. There's also a minor production flaw affecting both the first and last pages of the program. A slightly smaller sheet was used during printing, resulting in a top edge that's about a quarter-inch shorter than the other pages, with the bottom edge getting trimmed slightly as well. As a result, the names "Brian" and "Bill" on the opening page are cut off a bit, but they're still legible and add a quirky touch. Thankfully, neither Mick nor Charlie's photos on the back page were impacted. Measuring 10 x 12.75 in. Exhibiting age, handling, and bumped corners. In vintage very good condition.
