Olivier & Leigh Letters to Danny Kaye with Photo

Danny Kaye, 1949, Danny Kaye. Vintage collection of (5) pieces of correspondence from Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh to Danny Kaye including 1-black and white 3.5 x 5.5 in. blank picture postcard featuring Olivier's portrait, 1-creme 2.75 x 3.5 in. paper leaf with measurements and notes handwritten in black ink and graphite pertaining to Vivien Leigh, 1-Laurence Olivier pale blue 2-page letter on Durham Cottage letterhead, 1-is typed and reads in part: “You are brought to mind so constantly, by almost every little thing; Vivien, particularly whenever she uses your last gift to her, if you remember what it was. I am afraid I have rather spoilt the beautiful picture by using it myself; this, as you may imagine, is premeditated destruction," signed in blue ink, “Yours, L," and with 1-handwritten page from Vivien Leigh which reads, in part: “Angel Boy…We're sending separately the little book by (illegible) on painting which we hope you like." Also including 1-original transmittal envelope, postmarked 3 Sep. 1949, addressed to “Mr. Danny Kaye." Danny Kaye shared a close friendship with Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. The three were part of Hollywood's elite social circle in the 1940s and 1950s. Exhibiting age, handling and original transmittal folds. Accompanied by personal, unpublished, never before seen travel photograph of Olivier and Leigh in original 5.5 x 3.75 in. frame as sent to the Kayes by the Oliviers. Photo unexamined out of frame.
