Keith Acton game used stick here from his time with the Minnesota North Stars. He only used the Sherwood 8030 for a short time opting for the more common 5030 variety. The photo shows him using this type stick with the blade tape and graphics all matching up. Nice use on the bull dog tape on the blade with the Acton Name stamp along with 21 near the top where you find Keith's very distinctive butt end tape style. Nice puck marks up the mid shaft with no crack or breaks and is signed, To Gaetan, Best Friends Forever Keith Acton. Gaetan Lefebvre was the athletic therapist for the Montreal Canadiens when Acton played there, and this stick comes from his personal collection. Very nice example of a local player who won the Stanley Cup in 1998 with the Edmonton Oilers. Keith Acton born April 15, 1958, is a Canadian former professional who played 15 seasons in the with the , , , , and between 1980 and 1994. In his NHL coaching career he has been an assistant coach with the , the , the , the and most recently the Edmonton Oilers, who released Acton and fellow assistant on June 4, 2015. Acton was selected 103rd overall by the in the . He began his NHL career on Montreal's fourth line but his productive play soon earned him a promotion to the first line, where he centered all-stars and . He became known as one of the best faceoff men in the NHL. His most productive NHL season came in 1981–82 when he registered 88 points in 78 games with Montreal. When his production dipped the following year to just fifty points, his stock in Montreal fell and early in the 1983-84 campaign, Acton was part of a blockbuster trade. The Canadiens packaged Acton up with Mark Napier and a third pick and dealt them to the Minnesota North Stars for Bobby Smith. With Minnesota, Acton reeled off three consecutive 20-goal seasons but after a slow start to the 1987-88 season he was dealt to the . Councillor Keith Acton was first elected to Council in 2022, and proudly serves the residents of Ward 3. Born and raised in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Keith is a former professional hockey player who played 15 seasons in the NHL. He also spent many years as an assistant coach to several teams. Keith is the proud owner of Stouffville’s Boston Pizza, and supports many local groups and charities through sponsorships and donations of delicious food. Keith is very proud to be a member of Council. It is a responsibility he does not take lightly. He strives to make good decisions for the town and encourages everyone to continue to work together to keep Stouffville great.
