Constructed of slip cast latex and polyfoam filled, the bust resembling Jack Nicholson's iconic "Joker" is expertly painted in white for the face, red for the lips, with green dyed crepe wool hair and eyebrows. Eyes and mouth are also painted to give distinction and flair to the menacing, smiling rictus. Henry Alvarez, a renowned Hollywood sculptor, began his career under the mentorship of Katherine Marie Stubergh in 1968, learning the secrets of life-size wax figures and contributing to iconic films. After Stubergh's retirement, Alvarez established his own studio, Alvarez Wax Models, expanding into film special effects, bronze sculptures, and monuments, collaborating with artists like Rob Bottin on film projects such as Total Recall and The Thing. Though Alvarez passed away in 2012, his legacy endures through his influential body of work and a collection of treasured items now available to collectors. Measuring approx. 12 x 8 in. Display base measuring approx 7 x 7 in. Accompanied by a "Joker/Batman" playing card featuring character illustrations from the 1992 Batman: The Animated Series show, with Joker on one side and Batman on the verso. The card measures approx. 4 x 3 in. Exhibiting minor handling and expected aging, with light fading and deterioration to the ridge of the neck. In good condition.
