George Cukor Signed Letter to Sylvia Kaye

Danny Kaye, 1950, Sylvia Kaye. Vintage typed letter on 10.5 x 7 in. stationery dated “September 5, 1950", from director George Cukor to Sylvia Kaye, which appears to have accompanied gifted lotion. The letter reads, in part: “Dearest Sylvia: Far be it from me to brag about a lousy little present, but…..I think you'll find it'll come in mighty handy." Cukor then goes on to list four reasons why it's a great gift, and goes on to write: “It may help to make a certain party forget the oafish behavior of another party for not sending his thanks for having been asked to a most wonderful party. Affection," and it is signed in blue ink, “George." Cukor was a renowned Hollywood director famous for his mastery in “women's pictures," films centered around strong female leads. His ability to bring out nuanced performances from actresses made him a pivotal figure in shaping cinematic portrayals of women in American film. Exhibiting expected age and foxing, original transmittal folds, and minor perforations from a staple at the top left. In vintage very good to fine condition.
