Vintage collection of (5) tri-fold heavy cardstock creme dinner invitations featuring portraits of Danny Kaye and King Frederik VII on the cover with printed “7 small homes / Copenhagen." On first interior page it reads: “At a dinner party given about a hundred years ago by his Majesty King Frederik VII at Jaegerspris Castle in honor of the countess Danner, Hans Christian Andersen was among the guests, enjoying the following dinner:" This sets the scene for the themed dinner, which draws on both historical and cultural elements, showcasing Kaye's love for history, food, and hosting memorable gatherings. On the following interior page, the menu for the evening is listed, including a “Roast Cock prepared with aromatic herbs," reflecting Kaye's affinity for fine dining and his appreciation for the culinary arts. A known gourmand, Kaye would later be awarded the French Medal of Merit, the highest culinary award in France, the only non-French chef to receive it.
